Jupiter Unit Trust Managers employs the most FE Alpha Managers with 12 on the newly revealed list for 2012.
In second place is Fidelity with 10, M&G on nine and Henderson Global Investors and Invesco Perpetual with seven each. FE scores managers on three components: risk-adjusted alpha; outperformance of benchmark; and the consistency of outperformance or underperformance in rising and falling markets. Managers are judged on their track records from 1 January 2000 to 31 December 2011 and they must have a minimum track record of 30 months to be rated.
