John Botham, head of European equities and manager of the £152m Aviva Investors European Equity fund, is leaving the company after his role was made redundant.
The fund will now be managed by Mark Denham, who has worked on the team since 2003. The move is part of the restructure of the company's European equity desk. Rita Dhut and Philip Parker, both fund managers on the European equities team on the institutional side, have also been made redundant. At the end of January, Aviva Investors announced plans to close its European, emerging market, SRI and global equity desks as part of a shake-up that could see 160 jobs cut if all the changes are approved.
