GAME Group administrators have announced 333 of its UK shops that are still open have been sold to private investment firm OpCapita.
OpCapita, which specialises in retail, set up a company called Baker Acquisitions to purchase the shops. The decision will save the jobs of almost 3,200 GAME Group employees, and may result in re-employment of a small number of workers who were made redundant from head office, according to the BBC. Last Monday the video game retailer went into administration, with 277 stores closing down immediately. The group also asked the FSA to suspend trading in its shares.
