Threadneedle has named Diane Sobin as co-manager of Cormac Weldon's £358m American Smaller Companies fund.
Sobin joined the group last summer from Columbia Management, a fellow asset management subsidiary of Threadneedle parent company Ameriprise Financial. Weldon (pictured), head of US equities at Threadneedle, has run the American small cap portfolio since September 2005. He has run the £1.7bn American Select fund since 2001 and took over the £1.9bn American fund in July last year following the departure of Andrew Holliman to Polar Capital.
