Furtado joins RLAM to spearhead expansion

Ian Furtado, the former head of sales at emerging markets boutique Occam, has joined Royal London Asset Management (RLAM) as a business development manager.

Furtado joins three months after being made redundant by Liontrust Asset Management, following the group's acquisition of Occam last October in a £3.9m deal. He will be responsible for growing RLAM's business reach in the wholesale market, to discretionary managers, stockbrokers, private banks and multi-managers. Furtado will report to Ian Goulsbra, head of wholesale clients. He has also previously worked in sales roles at BDT Invest and spent 23 years at Baring Asset Management.
