Power lunch with Buffett sells for record $3.46m

This year's charity auction for lunch with Warren Buffett closed last week with a winning bid of $3.46m.

The mystery bidder has won a power lunch with the Sage of Omaha and seven friends at a Manhattan steak house. The winner outbid 10 others who entered 106 bids over the five-day eBay auction. All the proceeds of the auction will go to California-based charity the GLIDE Foundation which runs a number of programmes to help disadvantaged people. Buffett (pictured) said the charity is “maybe the most effective organisation I have seen for people down on their luck. It takes people who have hit bottom and brings them back.
