Threadneedle's Brazier to take over SWIP's UK Select Trust

Threadneedle's Simon Brazier is to take over management of the £25m UK Select trust as the group lays out its plans for expansion into the investment trust space.

Brazier (pictured), who is expected to take control on 31 July, will manage the portfolio in accordance with the UK Equity Alpha strategy he applies to the running of his £1.1bn Threadneedle UK fund. Scottish Widows Investment Partnership ended its contract to run the vehicle in April, when it announced the restructure of its equity division. The trust had been run by the group's former head of UK equities, Peter Cockburn, since 2003. Cockburn departed SWIP as part of that restructure, which has seen the group shift much of its equity focus to offering "enhanced passive" strategies. ...
