Principal Investment Management has placed a number of veteran UK income managers onto its infamous Black List of funds, part of the group's latest Income Study.
Income funds run by Jupiter's Anthony Nutt and Liontrust pair Gary West and James Inglis-Jones have been given a ‘switch' recommendation for persistent underperformance. Other prominent funds on the Black List of 14 names include Graham Ashby's Ignis UK Equity Income fund and the Henderson UK Equity Income fund, headed up by James Henderson. However, Principal notes Ashby has only recently taken over the Ignis fund and "will look to use his proven stock-picking abilities to turn around the fortunes of investors".
