Schroders' Virginie Maisonneuve has been focusing on the consumer sector within her global equity funds as a play on the US economic recovery.
Maisonneuve (pictured) is lead manager of the £48m Global Alpha Plus fund and offshore £468m ISF Global Equity Alpha funds, and also oversees other global portfolios for the group in her role as head of global equities. Sector weightings to consumer discretionary and consumer staples are the largest relative to the benchmark in her 30-stock Global Alpha Plus fund. Among the fund’s top ten holdings within these sectors are Kraft Foods, Nestle, Home Depot, and Sekisui Chemical.
