Aberdeen launches global small-cap fund for Docherty

Aberdeen Asset Management will launch a global small-cap equities fund for Stephen Docherty in late September.

Investment Week first revealed Aberdeen's plans for the fund in November last year, but the launch was postponed due to market conditions. The Luxembourg-domiciled Aberdeen Global World Smaller Companies fund will be a 40 to 60 stock portfolio which will focus on companies with market capitalisations of below US$5bn. The offering is based on the company's US-domiciled $52m Aberdeen Global Small Cap fund, launched in September 2009.
