Former FSA head Howard Davies joins Phoenix as chair

Closed fund consolidator Phoenix Group has appointed former Financial Services Authority (FSA) head Sir Howard Davies as chairman.

Davies, whose current roles include non-executive directorships at Prudential and Morgan Stanley, succeeds Ron Sandler from 1 October. He was chairman of the FSA from 1997 to 2003. Davies said: "Phoenix is a leader in its specialist field and has demonstrated through its recent results a real track record of delivering on financial targets and making significant progress operationally."
