Simon Cowan is to join Ignis Asset Management as fund sales director as the group continues to restructure the UK retail business away from the joint venture boutiques.
Just a few weeks after the group reported a rise in first half profits, Ignis has recruited Cowan (pictured) from Old Mutual Asset Managers to continue to drive investors' focus to the in-house range including the Absolute Return Government Bond, run by Stuart Thompson and Russ Oxley, and the UK Equity Income fund run by new hire Graham Ashby. Reporting to head of UK retail Austin McBride, Cowan will look after wealth manager and discretionary accounts across London when he joins on 17 September.
