SLI hires ex-Martin Currie analyst for Nimmo fund

Standard Life Investments has hired Kirsty Desson as an Asia Pacific analyst on Harry Nimmo's Global Smaller Companies fund.

Desson joins SLI having left Martin Currie in 2009 to take a break from the industry. She will be responsible for the Asia Pacific (including Japan) component of SLI's £49.5m Global Smaller Companies fund, which is co-managed by Nimmo (pictured) and Alan Rowsell. Commenting on the hire, Nimmo said Desson's specialist Asia Pacific investment experience will enable the fund to have a greater weighting in the region when valuations are favourable.
