Lansdown to step down from Hargreaves board as profits jump 21%

Hargreaves Lansdown co-founder Stephen Lansdown is to step down from the board in November the group said today, after revealing profits had jumped 21% in the last year driven by revenues from its Vantage platform.

Lansdown will step down from the board at the next annual general meeting, having been a non-executive director for the last two years. Lansdown and co-founder Peter Hargreaves are amongst the UK's wealthiest people, after the former accountants turned the firm they founded 30 years ago into a FTSE 100 company with a multi-billion pound market cap. The announcement about Lansdown came as the group revealed its full year results.
