Chatfeild-Roberts unveils fund for investors 'scared of equities'

Jupiter chief investment officer John Chatfeild-Roberts has outlined the shape of his Merlin Conservative portfolio, which will launch later this month, marking the fifth edition to his £7bn strong fund of funds range.

Chatfeild-Roberts said the fund is aimed at investors who are ‘scared of equity markets' and are seeking to preserve wealth, given the current uncertain climate. The manager added with global markets continuing to be a game of ‘hide and seek' between investors and politicians, stocks will remain range-bound over the medium term. To reflect his cautious stance in the fund, 34% of the portfolio will be in equities at launch, of which 16% will be in the UK and 18% in global assets.
