Broker Oriel Securities has compiled a ten strong list of investment trusts trading on discounts which are too attractive to ignore, while also naming ten companies which are too expensive to own.
The broker has tipped smaller company specialist mandates as a buy, given the wide discounts on offer in the space. Iain Scouller, investment trust analyst at the firm, named the Invesco Perpetual UK Smaller Company trust, run by Richard Smith and Jonathan Brow, as one of the cheapest trusts in the market. Over the past six months its discount has drifted from 13% to 19%. Other cheap specialist smaller company trusts to make the list include Montanaro UK Smaller and F&C Global Smaller.
