Pigs, energy and beer: 10 new positions powering Midas Balanced Growth

MAM Funds' Simon Callow has been adding risk back into his £190m CF Midas Balanced Growth fund over the last quarter as policymakers work to steer the eurozone into recovery mode.

Callow began moving away defensive assets during the second quarter when he took the view a significant risk premium had become embedded into most asset classes. Following ECB president Mario Draghi's pledge to save the eurozone, Callow began increasing the fund's exposure to equities, commodities and private equity, financed by selling down some fixed interest positions and removing hedging instruments.
