Ex-Skandia research head joins Russell Investments

Adam Smears, formerly the head of investment research at Skandia, has joined Russell Investments to lead its fixed income research team.

As head of fixed income research, Smears (pictured) will head up a team of nine, including new hire Kevin Dockerell who joined from Towers Watson as a fixed income research analyst. Smears, who also managed the Skandia Strategic Bond fund, joined Skandia in 2003 and has 15 years' experience of research and portfolio management. Russell said assets under management in its fixed income products have risen by 15% over the past year.
