Train: Why Hargreaves is my best stock pick of 2012

Lindsell Train co-founder Nick Train has said the single best performing stock in his portfolio in 2012 and his stock pick of the year is Hargreaves Lansdown.

Train (pictured), who runs the £258m Finsbury Growth & Income trust, said throughout the course of the year, 11 of the 24 holdings in the portfolio are up at least 20%, with Hargreaves topping the list. Train said Hargreaves, which is up 67.5% year to date, making it one of the best performing stocks in the FTSE 100 over the period, makes up 4.1% of the portfolio and has significantly added to performance this year.
