Asian equity boutique Coupland Cardiff is set to add a Japanese income fund to its range in the New Year.
Subject to regulatory approval, the fund will launch towards the end of January 2013 with Richard Aston at the helm. Aston has worked as an analyst alongside Jonathan Dobson on the Japan Alpha fund, a popular choice with multi-managers, over the past few years and this will be his first role as lead manager. The Japan Income & Growth fund, the fifth fund launched by Coupland Cardiff, will yield around 4%, and will be focused on growing the dividend yield as well as providing some capital appreciation on the underlying shares.
