Aberdeen today announced additional measures to stem flows into its phenomenally successful multi-billion pound emerging markets equity range, but should the hike put off investors?

Despite attempts by Aberdeen Asset Management to slow flows into its Emerging Markets range, worth a total of £15bn, it still remains one of the most popular products in its peer group. Today the firm moved to limit inflows once again after a recent surge in purchases, slapping an initial charge of 2% on to the funds - consisting of Aberdeen Emerging Markets, Global Emerging Markets Equity, and Emerging Markets Smaller Companies.
