Newton's Russon joins Franklin Templeton

Newton's Ben Russon is to join Franklin Templeton's UK equity team, taking over as co-manager of two of its UK equity funds.

Russon, who had been managing the Newton UK Opportunities fund, will join Franklin Templeton in April, becoming co-manager of its UK Select Growth and UK Managers Focus fund. He will work with co-manager Mark Hall on UK Select Growth initially, before taking over as lead manager after a period of transition. The move is the latest change to the group's Leeds-based UK equity team, known as Rensburg Fund Management prior to its acquisition by Franklin Templeton in 2011.
