Old Mutual Global Investors' (OMGI) fund of funds manager François Zagamé has swaped First State for Schroders to run an Asian mandate for his £1.2bn Voyager Global Dynamic Equity fund.
Zagamé said the change has been made to invest in ‘contrarian value' opportunities in Asia. The mandate will be managed by Schroders' Robin Parbrook, who runs the soft-closed Schroder ISF Asia Total Return fund. Earlier this year Parbook took control of the Asian Total Return Investment Company after Henderson Global Investors lost the management contract to Schroders. Zagamé argues taking a value approach in Asian equities is more beneficial in the current climate, as opposed to First State's approach of investing in stable franchises.
