Skandia leads tributes to British Olympic sailor Simpson

Skandia has led tributes to British Olympic sailor Andrew 'Bart' Simpson, who passed away yesterday after a Swedish catamaran capsized during a training session.

Simpson was one of an 11-man crew on board the Artemis Racing catamaran, which was preparing for the America's Cup in San Francisco Bay. He leaves behind a wife, Leah, and a young son, Freddie. Skandia, who had sponsored Simpson when he and colleague Iain Percy won gold in the Star class at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, paid tribute to Simpson. "We are devastated to hear the tragic news about Andrew Simpson. Andrew was a hugely talented and successful sailor and was very popular with everyone at Skandia that had the honour of meeting him," said the group. "We were proud to sponsor ...
