Which precious metals should be in your portfolio in 2013?

The recent sell-off in gold and silver has led to fears precious metals may yet have further to fall, but some investors have backed them to provide a boost for portfolios later this year as they recover some lost ground.

Alongside gold and silver - both of which have fallen sharply since the start of the year - Palladium and Platinum have both suffered sell-offs recently, with a pullback in April. However, recent recoveries for all four precious metals have left them trading near opening levels at the start of 2013, and with improving data coming from key markets in the US and China, the expectation is growing that some of the precious metals can rise much further from here.
