BlackRock poaches UBS sales director for Plackett's team

BlackRock has hired Daniel Whitestone from UBS to bolster its UK small- and mid-cap equities team.

Whitestone joins as director and will work initially as an analyst for the BlackRock UK Emerging Companies hedge fund. He will report to Richard Plackett (pictured), head of the six-strong UK small- and mid-cap team. Plackett, who co-manages the hedge fund with Ralph Cox, said: "Dan is an exceptional talent in the UK small- and mid-cap market and our growing asset base has given us the opportunity to hire him and expand further the analytical resources we can use to identify and invest in smaller organisations which are capable of superior long-term growth and returns to our clients."...
