ING IM appoints BlackRock's Beckers as CEO

ING IM International has appointed BlackRock managing director Stan Beckers as chief executive officer following the departure of Gilbert Van Hassel.

Beckers (pictured) will assume his new role at the beginning of July.  He will report to Lard Friese, member of the Management Board Insurance EurAsia (MBE), who will also assume the responsibility for investment management within this part of the business. Most recently, Beckers was managing director and co-head of BlackRock Solutions EMEA. He has also served as CEO and CIO of BGI's Alpha Management Group and CIO of BGI's European Active Equity Group.
