Aviva Investors has appointed Liam Spillane from Overlay Asset Management, formerly part of BNP Paribas Investment Partners, as emerging market debt currency portfolio manager.
He will be based in London reporting to Daniel James, head of global markets, and focusing on providing qualitative input into the currency overlay process. James said: "The depth of Liam's experience in currency management will complement the team well as we take the development of our emerging market debt capability to the next level." Spillane will work particularly on the Aviva Investors II Emerging Markets Inflation Linked Bond fund and the Emerging Markets Local Currency Bond fund.
