Thurleigh's MacKinnon: Banking crisis not over yet

UK banks remain at risk of very serious problems, according to Charles MacKinnon, chief investment officer at Thurleigh Investment Managers.

Although the probability of another banking crisis in the UK is low, MacKinnon believes "fear of loss is much more important that fear of missing out on gain". "If things went back to where we were in 2008/2009, and there is no assurance that they will not, then you could have very serious problems," he said. "Remember Northern Rock, remember the government nationalising Royal Bank of Scotland, HBOS, those things are not over yet. They could happen again."
