Ashmore launches Turkish equity SICAV

Ashmore Investment Management, an emerging markets specialist, has launched a SICAV fund investing in Turkish equities.

Ashmore SICAV Turkish Equity will invest predominantly in Turkish equities and equity-related instruments. The group has been a long-term investor in Turkish equities and in 2008 launched a Turkish venture, Ashmore Portföy, one of its first domestic asset management ventures. Didem Gordon, CEO of Ashmore Turkey, said: "Turkey's fundamentals offer a very attractive investment proposition. Turkey has a young population, its economy is growing and fiscal performance is strong."
