EM manager Finegan takes year out from First State

Emerging market equity manager Glen Finegan is to take a year out from his role at First State as of November.

Finegan is the co-manager of the £723m Global Emerging Markets fund and £36m Worldwide Equity fund, working alongside Jonathan Asante. He is to leave the First State Stewart team to undertake a year's sabbatical as of next month. The Global Emerging Markets fund has returned 22.5% over the three years to 4 October, according to Morningstar, compared to an IMA Global Emerging Markets sector average loss of 2.6%. The Worldwide Equity fund, which was launched in 2011, has returned 13.7% over one year compared to a sector average of 18.6%. Finegan joined First State in October 2001,...
