Henderson appoints head of fixed income as Irvine exits

Henderson Global Investors has appointed Phil Apel as head of fixed income as Jim Irvine exits the firm.

Irvine had been head of fixed income at the firm since February 2012, and has left the firm to pursue other opportunities. Apel (pictured) takes over responsibility for Henderson's £18bn of global fixed income assets, and a team of around 60 people in the UK and US. He has spent eight years at Henderson as head of interest rates. He is also chair of the Henderson Fixed Income Investment Strategy Group (ISG), Henderson's group of senior bond investors, responsible for diversified fixed income portfolios. Apel will report to incoming CIO Rob Gambi, who joins Henderson in early 2014. ...
