Santander hires ex-Schroders rates head Scammell

Former Schroders head of rates David Scammell has joined Santander as a senior sovereign bond fund manager within its European fixed income team.

Scammell (pictured), who left Schroders in January, will manage the Santander Asset Management Government Bond fund. He will report to Azim Meghji on the UK fixed income desk, and will take a "leading role in the decision-making process" while working across the Santander European fixed income product range. Scammell's arrival follows that of Adam Cordery, former UK and European credit head at Schroders and now head of European fixed income at Santander.
