FCA hires ex-Kleinwort Benson CEO as head of wealth management

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has appointed ex-Kleinwort Benson chief executive Robert Taylor as head of wealth management and private banking in its supervision division.

Taylor also previously worked at Merrill Lynch, SG Hambros, and Coutts. He will start in his new role at the beginning of February 2014 and will report to director of long-term savings and pensions Nick Poyntz-Wright. Since leaving Kleinwort Benson in 2011, Taylor has worked across a variety of sectors from the investment management industry to academia and the arts. He is also currently chairman of the University for Creative Arts and of the Whitechapel Gallery in East London.
