Majedie Asset Management has hired former Baillie Gifford fund manager Tom Record to lead the development of a long-only global equity offering.
Record spent 11 years at Baillie Gifford managing international equity funds, including work on emerging markets equities between 2004 and 2012. Within emerging market equities, he focused on researching Latin American equities and co-managed the group's global emerging markets strategies. The hire comes after Majedie's two senior global equities managers Simon Todd and Michael Nickson left for rival Marathon Asset Management at the end of 2012.
