Fewer than one in eight managers running both open- and closed-ended funds have outperformed in their open-ended portfolios, Investment Week analysis shows.
Data compiled by FE Trustnet and Investment Week shows a host of high profile managers, including Neil Woodford, Harry Nimmo, and Alastair Mundy, have seen their unit trusts and OEICs underperform their investment trusts over the past decade - some by a large margin. The analysis looks at managers who have run portfolios with similar mandates and top ten holdings over a period of at least five years.
