Skagen Global has added a portfolio manager to its flagship team in the second appointment so far this year.

Knut Gezelius is set to join the team on 12 May 2014. He has been working for Goldman Sachs Asset Management as its global equity executive director.

The move comes after Skagen announced former Morgan Stanley analyst Johan Swahn will join the team in March.

Skagen Global lead portfolio manager Kristian Falnes said: “We are very pleased to welcome Knut to Skagen. He brings valuable expertise to the team from a decade of wide-ranging, international experience across strategic planning, management consultancy and investment management.”

At Goldman Sachs, Gezelius acted as a buy-side analyst and global sector lead for stock selection of publicly listed equities, as part of the team managing GSAM’s global equity and European equity funds.

The £5.6bn Skagen Global Fund saw returns of 13.4% over the three years to 4 February 2014, compared to a sector average of 15.5%, according to FE.
