Barings Asset Management will close its China Growth fund in April after six years.
The fund, managed by William Fong since May 2008, will close on 4 April and the firm said dealings were suspended from 3 February. A statement from the firm said the fund was "no longer economically viable to manage". The £2m portfolio returned -4.2% over the year to 24 January compared to a sector average of -1.7%, and -9.4% over three years compared to a sector average of -5%, according to Morningstar.
