Henderson's property guru Sumner to retire after 17 years

Henderson Global Investors' head of global property equities Patrick Sumner is to retire in June after 17 years at the group.

Sumner has headed up the global property equities team since 2004 and was instrumental in setting up Henderson's European, Asian and Global strategies. The group said Guy Barnard and Tim Gibson will take over as co-heads of the team. Sumner said: "Having been at Henderson for 17 years, launched and grown our property equities franchise and seen it through a full and, at times, turbulent cycle, it is time to hand over to the next generation.
