Threadneedle's Harrison: This year will be trickier than people think

The level of returns on offer from equity markets this year may disappoint investors, according to Threadneedle UK Equity Income managers Leigh Harrison and Richard Colwell.

The managers of the £2.7bn fund have sounded a note of caution for the rest of 2014, saying there are a "lot of issues" which may have a negative impact on the quoted sector this year. Speaking to Investment Week, Harrison (pictured) pointed to declining demand in emerging markets as a particular problem, and said producing strong returns this year will be a "real test of skill".
