JOHCM's top quartile strategies near soft-closure

JO Hambro Capital Management's emerging markets strategy is $100m away from soft-closure, according to the group's chief executive, while two other funds are also approaching capacity.

The EM strategy, which includes the £52m onshore JOHCM Emerging Markets fund, has a total of $1.4bn in assets under management and has a capacity limit of $1.5bn. Assets include segregated institutional mandates as well as the OEIC fund. CEO Gavin Rochussen (pictured) told Investment Week the top quartile fund has seen inflows despite the recent emerging markets sell-off. He said: “Would we let it go above $1.5bn? Probably not. We would probably try to keep it at that level.” Any decision to soft-close the fund would take place after talks with the team and clients, he added. ...
