Hargreaves Lansdown received almost 3,200 complaints in the second half of last year, figures published by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) show.
A total of 3,173 complaints were opened against the company between July and December 2013, up from 527 in the previous six-month period, according to the data. Larger businesses are likely to receive more complaints; it is understood Hargreaves suffered as a result of interest in the Royal Mail IPO. A surge in traffic caused problems for Hargreaves website at the time of the listing. Overall, the number of new complaints opened against financial services businesses was down 15%.
