City Financial's acquisition of Iveagh has been dealt a blow after chief investment officer Chris Wyllie backtracked on joining the firm.
The acquisition of Iveagh by City Financial was announced in April and Wyllie's move was seen as a key part of the transfer. However, Wyllie (pictured), who has been chief investment officer since 2006, has since decided he would rather leave the business to consider other opportunities. He said: "Whilst moving to City Financial with our funds business was an enticing prospect and I was grateful for the opportunity, I have decided that after eight great years at Iveagh, it is a good moment to consider a number of options which have presented themselves to me."
