Five stocks powering Alken's European fund

European equities look attractive on valuations grounds and Alken Asset Management's Nicolas Walewski has been hunting for undervalued stocks with high potential returns.

Walewski's European Opportunities fund, which he co-manages with Marc Festa, won the best European fund award at Investment Week's 2014 Fund Management of the Year Awards held earlier this month. Over three years to 21 July, the £4.2bn fund made 62%, beating both the IMA Europe ex UK sector average return of 24% and the top performing onshore fund, BlackRock Continental European Income, which is up 49%.
