US ETF giant WisdomTree plans UK market debut

WisdomTree, one of the largest passives providers in the US, is to launch its first ETFs in the UK by the end of the year as part of its push into Europe.

Chief executive Jonathan Steinberg (pictured) told Investment Week’s Fund Management Summit that Wisdom Tree will launch a range of London-listed ETFs within the next three months. The company acquired a majority stake in UK ETF provider Boost ETP earlier this year, subsequently setting up WisdomTree Europe. Boost specialises in inverse and leveraged exchange-traded products, but only launched in 2012 and has a relatively limited market share as a result.
