Former Cazenove chief operating officer Ian Dyble has joined Henderson as head of product development.

Dyble, who was also Cazenove's head of product development until December 2013, will replace James Bowers, who has been promoted to global head of product and distribution services.

Bowers will oversee product development, project management, customer strategy and business management within global distribution in a newly-created role. He will report to global head of distribution Phil Wagstaff.

Wagstaff said the strengthening of the product development team is a response to growing global assets under management: "We have launched a number of new strategies over recent years and are continuing to broaden our alternatives capabilities globally.

“Our distribution footprint has grown quickly in the past 12 months. We have raised substantial net new net assets over that period and have registered funds and share classes in multiple new jurisdictions."

Over the next year, the product team aims to build on recent acquisitions and hires across the global distribution business, he added.

The hire comes one month after Henderson hired former First State manager Glen Finegan to head up its global emerging markets team.
