Ex-SWIP director joins Aviva Investors as fixed income CIO

Mark Connolly, formerly head of fixed income at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (SWIP), has joined Aviva Investors as chief investment officer, fixed income.

Connolly (pictured) will report directly to chief executive Euan Munro and will join the group's executive committee. His role will be to develop and implement the group's fixed income strategies, overseeing a global team in charge of over £160bn in assets. Prior to his role at SWIP, Connolly also held senior positions at Insight, Deutsche Asset Management and Standard Life Investments.
