Investment trust analysts at Winterflood have recommended some of the largest companies in the industry to help investors navigate their way through the year ahead.

Assessing investment trusts' prospects for the year ahead, Winterflood's Simon Elliott, Kieran Drake and Innes Urquhart said they continue to favour trusts which offer some kind of discount value, given their belief "it is easier to predict discount moves than NAV performance". However, the trio are also prepared to recommend funds on a premium where they believe discount risk is relatively muted. Accordingly, of the 28 recommendations, nine are trading on a premium or around NAV. A sector average discount of 5.7% suggests trusts do not offer substantial value at present, but the risk...
