Major fund groups 'falling short' on responsible investing

Several of the UK's major asset managers are falling short on stewardship and responsible investment practice, according to NGO ShareAction.

Research conducted by the organisation analysed the practices of 33 of the country's largest asset managers, including M&G, Threadneedle, and Aviva. It found several groups are failing to disclose information on their voting and engagement activities. Some 83% of the asset managers examined in this year's survey publicly disclose their voting records, the same as in 2010's survey. The proportion of firms who publicly report on their engagement activities is also virtually unchanged, ShareAction said.
