Baring Asset Management has converted its Global Bond Trust into a more flexible Strategic Bond fund and handed it to new manager Guy Dunham.
Dunham, who will lead the fund, joined the group last May as head of global aggregate, and will co-manage the fund with fixed income manager Richard Balfour. The fund will aim to deliver consistent performance in a range of different market environments and will have no benchmark. It will also expand the range of fixed income assets it can invest in from the current focus on government bonds and currency, to include investment grade debt, high yield corporate bonds and derivatives.
